Brat Productions searches for the truth in Get Behind Me Satan, the fourth and final installation in the Rock & Awe series. Brat resident artist Jess Conda concludes her guerilla cabaret series with a revival tent rock show performance of this White Stripes’ album in its entirety.
BRAT Co-Artistic Director Lee Etzold directs Conda as well as David Sweeny and Mary Tuomanen in rock parables about loss, betrayal and ghosts who witnessed it all. Band leader Peter Gaffney alongside musicians Evan Smoker and Zach Poyatt perform the White Stripes as they’ve never been performed before.
About Rock & Awe: The guerilla art-making cabaret series is the focus of Conda’s residency at BRAT Productions. She conceived and developed this quarterly cabaret series that seeks to blend the theatre world and the cabaret world, but with a rock and roll edge. These are narrative cabarets where the words of the songs function as the script.
